Social etiquette teaches a person how to behave in public and society. Social etiquette is very essential for an individual as it helps to shape your behaviour in public. Below are some basic rules of social etiquettes mentioned that you can follow.




1. Say Thank You
Thank you goes a long way in showing your appreciation for a kind deed. It can create a lasting impression and open doors to future opportunities. It is merely good manners to thank people who have come through for you.

2. Offer Compliments 

Always offer compliments sincerely and praise when required. If you are sincere in your efforts and offer genuine admiration, it will create a rapport that will keep you in good stead in the days to come.

3. Self-Control 

So many find it very difficult to control themselves in public. Self-control is one of the most basic etiquettes when you are sitting in a public place. It helps you to know when to speak, what to say and what not to say. Also, create a unique brand for your person. Don't go out on a date and start talking about your dirty secrets or deep secrets for the first date. Be it a casual date or romantic date. Don't be too loud and start boasting about the things you have. Self control helps you put yourself in check and teaches you control.

4.  Active Listening 

Listening helps you to understand better. Don't talk more than your host. Do not interrupt anyone while speaking. Listen to comprehend and when there is need for clarification, you can gently ask question.

5. Be Punctual 
Don't ever keep your host waiting and don't keep your guest waiting. Time is as important as the event. Always keep to time, it speak volumes about your person.

6. Stand During Introduction.
It is very important to stand and offer a hand shake during an introduction or greeting. Even if you are in the middle of something, you have to stand while greeting or doing an introduction.
