MERCY

The story of the woman caught in adultery is a very unique one. Whenever I look into that particular story in the Holy Bible, I usually translate it from a Spiritual angle. I love talking about the spiritual because I want people to know that the spiritual has a lot to play in our lives.

The evil himself, the devil is the accuser of brethren and he enjoys condemning people to death. You know why? The evil thing is so hungry for souls that he wants to take a lot to hell with him. In the book of John 8:1-11, we came across the story of a woman caught in adultery who is brought close to the temple to be stoned to death.

Jesus was at the temple area teaching people who have flocked to Him. Then the accusers came with the woman they have already condemned to death for committing adultery. The accusers brought before Jesus the woman. When they got to Jesus what they did was to cite the Mosaic Law, which calls for the stoning of the woman to death for committing adultery.

You know, I kept asking myself how possible it is for people to know that something is wrong, yet they just love to indulge in the act. The devil love the law that brings man to condemnation. So he takes advantage of this law so much that at very little mistake a man does, he quickly go to God to present the person's mistake before God in order for the victim to be put to condemnation.

The accusers of the woman asked Jesus what they should do to her and Jesus said to them "let the one among you who is without Sin be the first to cast a stone at her."  But they knew that they were all guilty of Sin. So one by one, the accusers left without been able to defend themselves.

It is important you know that the devil has no right over you as God's created. Reason, when the accusers asked Jesus what they should do to the adulterous woman, Jesus said, if anyone is without Sin let him cast the first stone. They couldn't do it because they were all guilty of Sin.

Listen, the devil is guilty of Sin. In fact, he is the father of Sin. The devil has no right or whatsoever to accuser you if you know your place in Christ. The adulterous woman  didn't know of His Mercy. She didn't know that Mercy is greater than all of our Sins. She never knew that there was something very special inside of her that the devil was trying so hard to destroy. Like we know that the devil is a thief and "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy"(John 10:10).

The adulterous woman didn't know who to run to. She had already given up because it is their way of life. An adulterous woman must be stoned to death. She never knew that Jesus "come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly"(John 10:10). Interestingly, Mercy was at the same spot waiting for her because He didn't come to condemn anyone.

"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death"(Romans 8:1-2).

The woman was crying. Her face was already facing the ground. She was just waiting for them to start casting the stones. But Mercy says no. I'm not gonna let you go. For mercy made her realized that His grace is sufficient enough.

It really doesn't matter what people think of you. Sometimes, you might see yourself as the worth person on earth. Believe me, some attitude or characters are not physical. They are spiritually masterminded. Mercy knows about it all and for someone out there, Mercy is saying no. I'm not gonna let you go. Open up your mind and don't let any negative imagination, talks, or people destroy your real you.

Grace comes in when Mercy has taken place. You can come to God just the way you are, but please don't step out the same way. The decision is yours to accept. When Jesus walked up to the woman He said to her "Woman, where are those thine accusers?hath no man condemned thee? She said, no man, Lord." For Mercy did not come to condemn but to save us from the law of Sin and Death.

Immediately, the adulterous woman realized that the person standing right in front of her is Mercy. She realized she found Mercy. Mercy spoke forgiveness "Neither do I condemn thee, go and Sin no More." Mercy of God spoke forgiveness then Grace got activated.

Grace is a product of Mercy. Mercy is an unmerited forgiveness. Grace is an unmerited Favour. Grace is the power of transformation. You can not find Christ and remain the same. Everything about you. Your attitude, character, life style, everything will change. Because Mercy keep saying no to Sin and Condemnation. While Grace is always rebuilding, remolding, transforming and making a better person.

Today, we have people who claimed to be born of God and still want to adorn themselves with the things of the world. You can not be between two opinions. Is either you are of God or you are of the devil. The devil does not have a right over you as God's created but Sin is the nature of the devil.

If you have the devil's nature in you, it means you want him to be with you. The only people who have a right to cast the devil out is "as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"(John 1:12). However, if you are not born again, the time is now. Mercy is still speaking and saying no. Accept Jesus and be saved. Repent, for the kingdom of God is not hand.
