What Is Grace?
Grace is often defined as God's unmerited favour. Although that is true, grace includes so much more. When we talk of grace, we talk about the power to overcome sin.
Adam and Eve had only experienced the natural power of God before sin came to dine with them in the garden.
Like Adam and Eve, God loves us so dearly and always ready to cover up our shame and nakedness. When Adam and Eve sinned, the devil thought that would be the final existance of man but God disappointed him by demostrating His unconditional love towards us.
When God said Adam and Eve should leave the garden of Eden, He couldn't let them leave naked. So He made for them a covering(Genesis3:21). He clothed man so the devil won't have access on the glory of man. This was actually the beginning of the introduction of grace to mankind.
When i got to understand how strong and unconditional the love of God is, i defined Grace as the unmerited mercy and love of God for our lives. Grace is the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives empowering us to walk not in the flesh but in the spirit in order for us to have the legal position of right standing with God.
"According as He hath chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love"(Ephesians 1:4).
There was a law that was given that could not be perfected. So God in His infinite mercy and unconditional love sent a gift called grace to us in order to save us from condemnation. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God"(Ephesians 2:8).
Grace is a gift from the father and that gift is the symbol of love. What the law could not achieved through flesh, grace came and achieved it, so we can walk in the righteousness of the law(Romans 8:1-6).
Grace is an expression of unconditional love from a father to His children in order for us to be right and enjoy the benefits of His love(John 3:16). God so loved the world and that He gave us His only begotten son... if only we can understand the precious gift of love, then we will know how important it is for us to love one another.
You have to love people the way the father loves us. Until you experience the goodness of God, you really don't know what is like.
How can you experience God's goodness?
"And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself"(Luke 10:27).
Love will make the world go round. Love was the reason for the sacrifice that God made. Love is really all that matters in life. No matter what you are struggling with God truth, love and grace can and will transform you. Jesus loves you so much that He does not want you to perish in sin.
Sin is a barrier that comes between love and man but if we can always learn to have faith in God, we shall always overcome every trials and temptations. No matter how tough the challenges are, God can bring peace into your life and home. God knows you by name and He knows your every moves. He knows your fears and worries. Take your pains to God and believe in Him, i can confidently say that they will take on divine explanation. Jesus loves you and really care alot about you.
