We are in a generation where people believe that being born again means to be in bondage again. Perhaps you feel the same. Without understanding His word, we can not know God at all.
The words in the Bible are the only things we need in order to live the kind of life God want us to live. We hear words, think words, and speak words all the time yet a lot of people don't understand what they hear, think and speak. Every word has an explanation and every spoken word has a meaning.
Some spoken words came to be as a result of an action and a reaction. The word "born again"was first mentioned in the book of John 3, and it came as a result of a question. "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God"(John3:3).
What Does Being Born Again Mean?
Someone once asked me "how will you know if you are born again and is being born again a Must?" Maybe you are also asking the same question.
Of a truth, the word born again is when you say to a person repent. Repentance is not an option. According to the above Scripture verse 7, Jesus said, "marvel not that i say unto you, Ye Must Be Born Again." Based on this verse it is an established fact that Repentance is a Commandment. In it's simplest, it is a must for a person to Separate from Sin.
Being born again is simple changing your nature and identity. Leaving the things of the flesh and accepting to walk in the Spirit. This bring you fully into the family of God. As the Bible explains to us that "without holiness no man shall see God"(Hebrews12:14). So it is a must to separate from sin as being Born Again is to be Separated from Sin.
How Can You Be Born Again?
You know by understanding what sins are and when you do not allow those things to entangle you. The Bible opined that we should not allow ourselves to be deceived, because no Sinner has inheritance in the kingdom of God. This statement established the fact in the Scriptures above, "except a man be born again he can not see the kingdom of God" and "holiness without no man shall see God."
This is a clear indication that SIN and God can never move side by side. Separation is to stop indulging in the sinful acts and to obey God in totality. "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God"(1Corin6:9-10).
Again, when you understand that a child of God is not a sinner and a sinner is not a child of God. "He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God"(1John3:8-9).
The Bible has instructed that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit(1Corin6:19-20). Beloved, the nature of sin is the nature of the devil and like you read in the above scripture, whoever commit sin is of the devil.
As you have read today, ask yourself if your life style is conforming to the will and purpose of God according to His word. If you are not yet born again, you can make a life changing decision today.
All you have to do is confess it with your mouth that Jesus is your Lord and Saviour and believe in your heart that He came, He died and on the third day God rose Him from death and all will be well with you.
