I was wondering the reason Jesus wasn't accepted by the Jews. After a very deep thought, I came to a finished point that it was because He was born in a manger. The then king of the Jews and his cabinet members couldn't accept the fact that the blessings that would rise alarm, cause so many discussions, bring beautiful reputation, and give a tremendous lift in the palace and their vicinity passed by and went straight to a nobody that lived in a supposed condemned community.
They can't comprehend it. God actually left them and sent His son, not just through a classless virgin but He was born in the midst of the low class in a condemned town. Oh my goodness! How dare! What happened to the palace? Come to think of it, did that explain something to you? Of course it does. How can the "King of kings" be born in a manger?
Allow me to express my point, God sent the angel Gabriel to visit a virgin that was fit to be the incubator of a holy fetus as it grows through for nine months. I assumed the angel Gabriel went round in search for...then he saw one that was chosen and landed in her house. He gave her a shocked salutation, "Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS." When she heard that she was afraid and said 'how would that happened for I no not a man.' The angel Gabriel said to her, " The Holy Spirit shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High God shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy son which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God."( Luke 1:28-35).
The child that was to be born was the Holy Spirit who came through immaculate conception. As His name sounds, He is too holy to live in a dirty home for nine months. Also too holy to be born in an unclean environment. The dirtiness in this context is sin.
The Lord needed a virgin to prove a point. He has all powers to do and undo. His only son has an assignment to be delivered. Which in that process The Lord God Almighty proved His mightiness.
I was mulling seriously on this before I decided to place my fingers on my keyboard. In the first place, why would God decide to send His son through the poor? Not because the poor are holier than thou or because they are more closer to Him. I bring it on to you that the Holy Spirit can not live in a place that is full of sin. He is holy so He needed a holy ground to land. The manger I supposed was a better place than the palace. Sight it from this angle, In real sense, the palace is usually a place of sacrifices of all sorts. Don't get me wrong I am not judging, just my opinion.
But was Mary a very righteous person? Yes. I was not there, but looking at the image of whom the Holy Ghost is, and the way God operated then before Christ came to die, I am so sure it was a prove that Mary lived a righteous life. Even having a man she was still a virgin. I want to believe that in those days they would have some kind of traditions that would make a woman wait for a while.
Now, was Mary the only virgin? I guess no. But I agree that the Holy Spirit can not stay in an unclean place. Wait a minute, the palace would have been a better option for the "King of kings." However, God has is reasons. The most important thing is to note that Christ came to fulfill purpose.
This lesson proved some points which includes, the virginity of a woman is her pride and honour. Even God honour virgins. Secondly, a sinner has no personal relationship with God. Our God is not a proud God. He owns the heaven and the earth yet He did not placed is image on the surface of the earth. He has all power to do and undo yet He chose to be born in a manger. He has the angels worshiping Him, yet He brought Himself very low to be called a child of a capital. God can only sign a contract with people who live in holiness and righteousness. He can only open is secret to those that fear Him. Like the book of Psalm 25:14 explains, "The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant." It also proved to us that holiness beget favour. So Mary found favour in the sight of God.
The Jews can not believe a Messiah would come from a small town where people believed that nothing good can come out of. Nathanael asked that very question."Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth?"( John 1:46KJV).
If Jesus was to be born in the palace, He wouldn't have been crucified. Why? Because in the days of Christ the word of a king is highly obeyed. When a king degrees a word, everyone must stand by it. Therefore, it wouldn't have been easy to fulfill the word of God. The word of a Prince is also as powerful as that of his father's. The Lord is a King already, He does not need a crown from a sinful world.
Or can a man walk into the palace and tell a king that they want to kill his son when is the king that has the right to degree? Never. No one can speak when the king is giving orders. The world would have accepted Him as the King of kings. But because He was born into the house of a poor virgin and a carpenter, they felt insulted and could not stand the shame. So they called Him a blasphemer, a lier, and concluded to kill Him.
In reality Jesus can never be killed. He came for a purpose and that purpose must be met. Jesus did not come to destroy what the prophets had said. He came to give a proper explanation of how God wants us to live. Also, He came to die so we might be saved.
For instance, prophet Moses talked about divorce. Infact, he gave the Israelite the go ahead to issue out divorce certificate,(Deuteronomy 24:1-4). But Jesus made them understand that because they were too hard that was the reason Moses gave that law. He said to them that it wasn't so from the creation. He made them understand that God created one man and one women.( Matthew 19:1-7). To those who think that marriage is a place of trial and errors, correct your ways, God does not like a separated home. Build your relationship on Christ. You can make it work if you allow Jesus to reign in your home.
There is a law that some people stands to follow. According to them, if someone slaps you ensure you do same. Which is also Moses law. Imagine getting a slap from somebody and you reply the wicked gesture with a slap. What do you think would happen? There will definitely be a fight. Now, Jesus came and said, if someone slap your right cheek, give the person the left cheek. "And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloak forbid not to take thy coat also."(Luke 6:29). Do you really understand what that will do? If someone should do that to you, believe me, there is no way you would slap the person's other cheek. Instead you will make peace with that person. That was the idea. Jesus thought us how to make peace at all times. Also to be at peace with one another.
In those days, people married more than one wives. But Jesus gave us a perfect understanding of what matrimony is all about. "The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them
male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?(Matthew 19:3-5KJV). The coming of Christ is to put things right and give us a clear explanation of how it was from the inception.
But, I have a good news for you. Despite all our sins, Christ came not for the righteous but for the sinners, "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."( Luke 5:32). God gave His only begotten son...If you can accept He whom The Lord gave, all your sins will be forgiven. Look around you. In as much as the Bible speaks about so many things including homosexuality, today, homosexuality is one of the most read headlines on tv and social media. How faithful and patient our God is. He is always ready to forgive if you are ready to turn away from your sinful ways and come back to Him.
God so loved the world that He gave...Jesus whom the Lord gave stood in the gap to define the perfect meaning of love by giving Himself to be crucified on the cross of Calvary. Another good news, the Almighty has made us understand that because of the death of His son we have sufficient grace. Now, for those who have not experienced the love of God, the Creator has a telephone number, look at your mobile number you will discover is eleven digits, so is God's telephone number eleven alphabets. It goes this way, J-E-S-U-S-C-H-R-I-S-T. At the mention of God's mobile number every knees shall bow.
Understanding the word of God is understanding God Himself. It is understanding the way God has designed life to be. No matter what you are passing through the Lord knows about it. Give it to Him. Dial is telephone number today and make your requests known to Him. The Creator designed us to have beautiful lives. A lot of people refused to accept He whom God gave because they are followers of religion, believes, and philosophy. God's word is God Himself. It is not a religion. It is how God has created us to live.
Believe me, nothing is too hard for Him to do. Give your goals to Him and they will take on divine explanation.
