THE QUESTION.

I was very late for class that morning, and I was terribly scared of being scolded, especially as the motivational Speaker, Mr. Tim Ronny had told us that we would tell him the most important question we need to ask ourselves in life.

For a moment I thought of running away from class but when I approached the field, I could hear the voices of our fellow students playing gambles and struggling with girls. All that became more concerning and then I started pondering over what Mr. Tim told us.

As I got to school, I saw that there were people gathered about the little board on which notices were posted. For as long as I have been in that school, all our bad news had come from that board-teenagers, youths and even adults smoking, drinking, gambling, chasing after girls and boys, engaging in unhealthy discussions, disrespecting instructors, and I thought without a doubt, of a truth, we need to know the most important question in life. But come to think of it friend, what can the question be?

Have you ever wonder why, a lot of people just can't seem to make the right decision in line with their destiny? While some make the right decision in the wrong path and find themselves struggling to get back to the right path. So many have seen themselves claiming to the apex of their careers without breaking a sweat.

However, on getting to the final junction, everything collapsed right in front of them. Then the question of how did this happened? What do I do to fix this? What would people say? Where did I go wrong? Keeps coming back and front. At this point, there just seem to be a challenge differentiating between an ability and a passion.

I have come to realized that many people today, take passion as a purpose. The truth remains that, these two are different and can never be the same. The earlier you realize it the better for you. You love to dance and sing, you see a lot will grow up with it and decides not to work other than to keep gambling with music believing that one day manner will fall from above for them.

No, not so at all. Great people don't just get things. They work hard and labour for success. Success has a price and successful people always pay the price for greatness. I want to point out the fact that because you love something or because your friends are into something doesn't mean you must do it or is your purpose. You can have passion for a thing yet that would not be the reason why you are created. But it will be an additional value to you.

What is purpose?
“This happens all the time,” Oprah says to Bishop T.D Jakes in an interview from an episode of “Oprah’s Lifeclass: The Tour.” “Anybody who can sing just a little bit, or they can write a piece of a poem, they think they’re supposed to be Maya Angelou all of a sudden. And you say people confuse talent with purpose.”

Bishop T.D Jakes says that yes, being good at something doesn’t mean it’s your calling. Pulling from a sermon he preached entitled “Living on Purpose,” according to him, “You must understand that the purpose is an underlying chemistry that makes you live your life.

Understand this, sometimes, you find your lost side in the most annoying or ignored activities. Sometimes, you can find your hidden you in that activity that you don’t enjoy engaging in. Sometimes, you can find the original you in something you have never tried before. Sometimes, you can awaken the you inside of you through that particular thing you see in the dream most nights and most times, you find your real you in the detouring challenges of life.

It is important to start having conversations about critical life issues. Discuss with yourself. Read books and discuss with people of like minds. I have come to realized that when purpose comes calling and the carrier is not paying attention, everything would go wrong. Marriage would go wrong, career would go wrong, making decisions and choices would go wrong, relationships would go wrong, friendship would go wrong, and life begins to play impossibilities.

The question is to first ask yourself ‘Who Am I?’ ‘Why Am I Here?’ These questions are very important questions that we should always ask ourselves. Most importantly, when you don’t seem to understand the things that is happening around you or can not point out the reason behind an occurrence in life, discuss with yourself and ask yourself questions. Those who ask questions can never miss there part in life.

The first step to finding yourself is to see yourself in whatever you do. It goes behind having joy and happiness in it. The reason is that what you don’t love or what you have never tried might just be the reason for your challenges. The ability might have been laying down in you for so long and the challenges came because that sleeping ability is calling for responsibility.

The main reason you shouldn’t compare yourself with others is because some people can have their ways in there passion but some can not. I have strongly encouraged people to understand when Jesus said in Scripture of Matthew 11:20, “many are called but few been chosen.” If you Understand those words, it will begin to unlock certain things in your life.

Why some people can do away with passion and some can’t, is because some have been chosen to start an assignment. While some have be called to follow the assignment. If you find yourself coping and getting it right, fine. You have been designed that way. But if you see yourself trying out everything and yet no edge ways, look within you, there is an ability that is ready to burst out.

Not until you pay attention to that ability, everything would keep going wrong and things will begin to seem impossible. Insult, mockers, sides talks, will come in. People will lost faith in you. But then have faith in yourself and don’t ever be discouraged. I have had my own share of it too. It took me time to understand that when purpose comes calling, you can never make it go back to deep sleep.

When purpose is awaken and you are not paying attention, life becomes unbearable. Everything would stop working. People would mock you. Friends, family, neighbors will insult you. Everything will just go wrong. In a case like this, you have no option than to stand where you are and make a life changing decision.

It is very essential you know that Purpose has two faces in life. You can not live one and leave the other one aside. The faces of Purpose are both Spiritual and Physical. There is always a battle to be won before Purpose can fully manifest. Believe it, you can not win the battle outside God. For every great person to emerge in life, you need the help of the great God.

Also, know that there is a difference between a rich man and a great man. Any work activity can make a person rich but only divine purpose makes a person great in life. If you don’t understand ask God and if you understand the dreams, take it back to God and write them out before Him. I tell you, they will take on divine explanation. Purpose is driven while passion is something you do that you enjoy. When you find your purpose, you can always learn to love it and make it your passion.
