THE PUZZLE OF LIFE.
"And Samson went down to Timnath, and saw a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines. And he came up, and told his father and his mother, and said, I have seen a woman in Timnath of the daughters of the Philistines: now therefore get her for me to wife. Then his father and his mother said unto him, Is there never a woman among the daughters of thy brethren, or among all my people, that thou goest to take a wife of the uncircumcised Philistines? And Samson said unto his father, Get her for me; for she pleaseth me well. But his father and his mother knew not that it was of the LORD, that he sought an occasion against the Philistines: for at that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel" (Judges 14:1-4).

So many of us find ourselves in situations that are unexplainable. We try to resolve issues, but all to no avail. We have asked certain questions that seem not to have answers.

We can't explain why good people suffer and die. We can't explain the prosperity of the wicked. We can't explain the outbreak of deadly sicknesses and diseases that takes the lives of so many. This puzzle is so because there are events in our lives, around us and in the world that are unexplainable.

Whatever you can't solve, if you keep thinking about it, you end up wasting your time and energy. Let it be and give it all to God. The puzzle of life is a mystery that only God can solve.

Have you ever experienced a situation where you are at the verge of breaking forth or achieving a goal and suddenly, the puzzle of life appeared and leave you and you alone to figure out how to solve it?

The above scripture talks about Samson the great. How Samson went down to Timnath and he saw a lady among the daughters of the enemy and desired to marry her. He came back, told his parent about her, they rebuked him but he refused.

However, it was the plan of God in order to enable him gain access among the people of the Philistines. On the day Samson decided to go marry the lady, a puzzle appeared before him but he was enable to figure it out.

"Then went Samson down, and his father and his mother, to Timnath, and came to the vineyards of Timnath: and, behold, a young lion roared against him. And the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and he rent him as he would have rent a kid, and he had nothing in his hand: but he told not his father or his mother what he had done" (Judges 14:5-6).

Here comes the puzzle of life. As they got to Timnath and came to the vineyards of Timnath, a lion came against him. Listen, he was with his father and mother but some how, he was the only one that the lion appeared in front of and his mother and father didn't know what was going on, even when he killed it, he didn't tell them.

Sometimes, we make a decision in life that is the permissive will of God and in order for us to know that the decision we have made is not God's will for us, immediately God throws a puzzle in front of us and leave us to work it out because in it lies questions and answers. In it lies problems and solutions. In it lies the pathway to a realistic destination.

Have you gotten to the point of achieving a goal and suddenly, challenges came, you felt disappointed, rejected, disgraced, shame and reproach? You felt like your whole has collapsed right in front of you? But you fail to pay attention to the puzzle that is set for you to solve. Rather, what you see right there didn't look like a puzzle but a challenge that you can deal immediately and move on.

This is where alot of people miss it in life. This also is why so many find it very difficult to unlock divine purpose in life. They look for the easiest way possible to deal with their challenges even if it means taking another person's happiness or peace of mind.

Anyway, you are not alone in this if you are that kind. Samson was also part of it. As anointed as he was, he was confronted with a life puzzle but he couldn't figure it out. Rather he saw a challenge that he could deal it and move on even though it's at the detriment of his parent. To him it wasn't necessary to wait and ask God questions because he allowed himself to be delusional.

Listen, what is that thing that you desire so much that can make you give up all that you have? What is that thing that you think is so precious that can make you give up your family, career, goals, love of God, and your purpose in life? The Bible says that "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death"(Proverbs 14:12).

What gives you joy? What is that thing that you desire so much that pulls you away from the presence of God? What makes you weak? What is it that your eyes see and your heart can not say no to even when it is not God's will for you?

The puzzle of the lion and Samson, was something Samson couldn't figure out and because he was carried away by what his eyes saw and what his heart perceived to be good, his spiritual eyes went blind immediately and that prevented him from identifying the appearance of the lion.

Yes, he had two people with him that would have helped him solved the puzzle but he refused to tell them because he knew they would know what God was saying and they would try to stop him from taking that step. The Bible said, "And he went down, and talked with the woman; and she pleased Samson well. And after a time he returned to take her, and he turned aside to see the carcase of the lion: and, behold, there was a swarm of bees and honey in the carcase of the lion. And he took thereof in his hands, and went on eating, and came to his father and mother, and he gave them, and they did eat: but he told not them that he had taken the honey out of the carcase of the lion"(Judges 14:7-9).

This is where errors came into Samson, that he got totally and completely lost in the things his eyes beheld. Samson was a man bound by vow with God before he was born. His commitment to God was to be a Nazarite, which was a commitment to not cut hair, drink alcohol and to not touch anything dead. This commitment was sacred. Because of the vow Samson became unclean by touching anything dead.

How can a man see honey on the carcase of a dead lion and still decided to eat the honey? Imagine the smell that would be coming out of the carcase. Imagine the maggots, imagine how rotten and irritating that would have been, yet Samson decided to eat the honey he found on the carcase of a lion he killed. He even gave some to his parent to eat without telling them where he got it from.

This is why you should always ask questions before putting anything in your mouth. Some foods are not meant to be eaten by the anointed of God. Great people don't eat everything that is serves on the table. There are foods that by perceiving the smell, you know you are not meant to eat them. Not all that have sweet aroma, looks delicious or taste like honey you should eat. Some sweetness are actually gotten from the carcase of a dead thing.

"Sin taste like honey, but sits on the carcase of a dead lion." When a man becomes desirous of the wrong things, death becomes inevitable in the life of that man. Sin appears on the carcase of a dead lion like honey and if you are not careful, you will deep your hands in it and eat the honey that is already mixed with maggots.

What puzzle has life set before you? Instead of hoping on God to solve it, you've decided to mingle with sin hoping to get answers in sin. No right answer can come out of a dead thing. Whenever one is about to be blessed in a wrong way or engage in a wrong thing, God put a puzzle in front of you to enable you figure out that the honey in front of you is actually mixed with maggots because it is gotten from the carcase of a dead lion.

This puzzle is what usually set challenges on our path to finding purpose or achieving a goal in life. The reason God allowed Samson to like the daughter of an enemy, was for him to gain access into their camp because the philistines have dominated Israel at that time. So Samson needed to go in and break the yoke the enemies have on his people. Instead of him to pay attention, he allowed honey from the carcase of a dead lion taste so good in his mouth even though he knew he was eating poison.

He was chosen by God from birth to bring deliverance to his people. At the verge of making a remarkable decision in his life, the devil set a sin before him. Instead of rebuking the devil, he fell. So many are like Samson today. At every little thing, they look for a reason not to come before the presence of God. At every little thing, they have a reason to question the existence of God. They get blindfolded because they have been taking honey from the carcase of a thing dead.

Anytime you allow sin into your life, you take a step backward in the pursuit of your divine purpose. Samson was carried away by his lustful desire. That lustful desire became his weakness as he moved on. So he allowed his weakness to override him. When he was supposed to pray, he slept. Are you sleeping when you are supposed to be praying?

Do you see sin as something desirable and nothing else matter to you? Sin is dirty and takes a man out of God's plans and purpose. God can never fail you. Give it all to God and allow Him work it out for you. Then you will understand how to sing the Lord's song in a strange land. "who so breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him"(Ecclesiastes 10:8). Don't break the hedge. It is dangerous to play games with sin.

What sin do you desire so much that you don't want to let go? Is it the sin of fornication, adultery, masturbation, homosexuality, lying, stealing, drunkenness, idolatry, taking what is not yours, gossip, backstabbing, talking too much, etc. Beloved, there is nothing of the flesh that is worth truncating the destiny of anyone. Focus and obedience to God's word are keys to getting to your place of destination and fulfilling divine destiny in life.

Don't think that you know too much or because you are filled with anointing, you can not fall if you don't be careful. The essence of God's word is for us to understand our covenant with God and know the importance of obedience to His word. Samson is an example that grace can leave a man that lives a carnal life. Guide yourself in Christ and live in obedience to God's word. Challenges are part of the process in life and they are presented to us as a puzzle in order for us to solve and find our path to a realistic destination. It is very dangerous to take God for granted. Don't break the hedge. Once you discover your purpose in life, stay there. Timing is everything in life. God will make everything beautiful in His time.
